14 1115 Leading veh crossed Bn SP. Bn lifted on TCVs, covered 176 miles and reached CANTEAU (Belgium) at approx 0330 hrs on 15 Sep.
15 1115 Bn lifted as previous day covered another 80 miles approx to LINKHOUT (Belgium) amidst cheers and the gifts of grapes, apples, pears, tomatoes etc of the populace.
18 1630 Left LINKHOUT, marching personnel in DUKWs.
18 1900 Arrived 368790 – DE GROOK HEILE on a bare “blasted heath”. 43 Div Grouping Op Garden. 4 Som LI Gping & Mov Order. 129 Bde Mov. Order No.2.
21 0800 Passed SP
21 1012 Crossed into Holland.
22 0400 Arrived at 617562 near GRAVE.
22 0800 Left location. During course of last night a DUKW carrying personnel of C Coy overturned killing 7 and injured others.
22 1200 Arrived at NIJMEGEN spent night in large school.
23 1200 Left NIJMEGEN and crossed R.Waal.
23 1400 'O' Gp called at 695655.
24   Bn moved and arrived at 694685, where the night was spent. 7 PWs passed back to Bde. One SS man dressed in civilians was dealt with by local Dutch.
25   Static.
26   Moved to ELST (691709) by march route. 1 PW passed back to Bde. 43 Div Op Instr No.2.
27   3 PWs (Flak Regt). One Sgt speaks good English and gave useful infm.
28   Static. During night 28/29 br at NIJMEGEN put out of action by desperadoes (thought to be 2 man submarine).
29   Bn static. NIJMEGEN br out of use. Rations etc brought over in DUKWs.
