10   Adv party to recce new area between SITTARD and GEILENKIRCHEN where Bn Group was to hold the line in the area of GANGELT with the inf Bn and 2 sqns in support. Adm. Instr No. 1 and Mve Instr. No. 1 issued.
11   Bn preparing to move.
12   Main body moved leaving EWIJK 0400 hrs and arriving SCHINVELD 2 miles S of GANGELT at 2200 hrs. Sqns moved straight into posn except two tps forward supporting the right and left Coy positions respectively at VINTELEN and HASTERATH. No. 2 Sqn in area MADER GANGELT, on the frontier with battle positions on the ridge to the North. No. 3 Sqn in reserve with Bn HQ and Echs in SCHINVELD..
13   Recce of positions prior to take-over.
14   Take over completed by first light without incident, except for 4 cas suffered from mortaring.
15-18   All quiet except for periodic shelling.
19   Change over of leading Sqn completed without incident. No. 1 Sqn to SCHINVELD. 2 Sqn to GANGELT, 3 Sqn to MINDER-GANGELT.
20-24   Active patrolling by both sides. Periodic shelling.
25   Change over completed without incident. No. 1 Sqn to MINDER-GANGELT, No. 2 Sqn to SCHINVELD and No. 3 Sqn to GANGELT.
26   Six spare tanks and crews attached to Battalion for training.
27   Visit of Corps Commander.
28   N.T.R.
29   Raid on enemy occupied village cancelled, as it had been found unoccupied for two nights by patrols. Slight increase in enemy shelling.
