Army Form C.2118
Unit: 96 Company, RASC (Troop Carrying)
Month and Year: July 1944 (Erase heading not required). Commanding Officer: Major A.W. Holmes, RASC
Place Date Hour Summary Reference
23   Part issues of bulk rations being made now. The compo rations have proved very satisfactory on the whole. The puddings are without exception excellent the bacon has improved somewhat over previous issues, but the M & V is not as tasty as that issued in Middle East though causes less stomach trouble. Vegetables excellent. Biscuits also greatly improved being thinner sweeter and less hard. Margarine more tasty and sausages are much more palatable and less "stodgy"
