HACKLINGEN M.R. S774165 1   Detail for 50 TVs to move ‘X’ R.H.U. (looking after D.P.s) from Infantry Barracks to area Brunswick. Will take about 3 days.
2   Instructions received and passed to staff of No.4 MTIB who were just beginning inspection of this unit, for them to cancel this inspection & return. Hoped to rearrange later.
5   30 TCVs are to relieve Pl. of 5 tonners working at 13 Gp. Pioneer Corps. was in Infantry Barracks, Luneburg to carry Russians over the border – about 18 miles. This is a standing detail until further orders.
6   New C.S.M. to replace late man posted for Seac arrived.
7   4 MTIB reported and are preparing to begin inspection tomorrow morning.
8   Major Stapleton pf 4 MTIB arrived to carry out vehicle inspection. Orders received for 2 attached P.W. Tpt. Pls. to return to their respective Coys.
12   Posting order received for Lt. F.H. Bates on promotion to Captain. He is at present on leave.
12   Officers conference held in morning.
12   IMT staff completed inspection of unit’s M.T.
13   Additional accommodation of two cottages for H.Q. taken occupation on 16 Aug 45.
14   Posting order received for a subaltern to take over 777 P.W. Tpt. Pl. Has not yet arrived.
15   Message received that 16th & 17th Aug are to be V.J. Day’s holidays. Sports being organized & essential details must be continued.
17   Lt. Cl. Bell RASC joined unit to command 777 P.W. Tpt. Pl. which has recently been held by Lt. A.M. Haylings of this unit. He has come from 747 Coy RASC (Bridge).
18   RE’s with Civilian labourers began to build the fence around the vehicle park as asked for on 30 June 45!
19   Thanksgiving Service in LUNEBURG Garrison Church very well attended.
20   Capt. Locke and Lt. Hazlerigg went to see CRASC 46 Tpt. Coln. RASC
22   Lt. Col Borrill of 46 Tpt. Coln. RASC visited the unit and saw the layout and accommodation.
22   Lt. Wood 805 having entered 121 (Br) Gen. Hosp. yesterday for an ear operation. Expected back in 7 days.
25   O.C. visited detachment of two TCVs carrying mail for A.P.O. at Hamburg. Very satisfactory and well looked after Oi/c A.P.O. but increasing to 3 vehicles for rest.
26   46 Tpt. Coln. Sports held. Great difficulty in raising a team but managed entry in each event.

26   Maj. Barlow 2i/c 46 Coln. Visited unit.
28   Moved Coy H.Q. and staff to location nearer the Pls., in house, 79 Saltauer Strasse, LUNEBURG.
LUNEBURG M.R. S779188 29   Lt. F.H. Bates posted on return from leave to 8 Fd. Amb. RAMC as O.C. RASC section in rank of Capt. Capt. Miller-Jones proceeded on leave.
